We love and go to great lengths to protect our Loggerhead Turtle here on Tybee Island.  While you are on the Island be sure to stop and visit Tybee Island Marine Science Center 37 Meddin Drive Tybee Island, Georgia 31328 912-786-5917. May 1st was the start of sea turtle nesting season on the Georgia coast. Our Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project volunteers walk the beach every morning looking for turtle tracks. Once tracks are found, the nest is located and blocked off with caution tape.
