Small Shrimping communities, at one time, were numerous in the Southern Lowcountry. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case as waterfront property has become so valuable that owners of boat docks are selling.  Happily, for those of us who love local shrimp and the lore of shrimp boats, Darien, Georgia, has fought this trend and their shrimping fleet is still intact.
