On Maudlin Pond: A Nature Journal of Observations and Illustrations

Over many decades spent on Tybee Island and other beautiful Georgia barrier islands, the author, a naturalist and Disney-trained animator, pens and illustrates his nature observations on the beaches, in the woods and of the marshes. Taking inspiration from Thoreau, the author's favorite place to commune with nature is right by his own Maudlin Pond.

Mallory Pearce, well into his 80's now, is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in ecology.   Pearce also has a master's degree in film animation from UCLA. Tybee, a barrier island seaward of Savannah, is Pearce's base for his studies up and down the coast.
